Stay Off the SCALE!

As many of you already know, I love fitness and the journey toward a healthier happier life.  Anytime someone decides to make a change to maybe drop some weight, become more fit, add muscle or whatever their goals are, I get fired up!  Another win in the battle against obesity!

However when people gauge their success and lose sight of their big picture it usually comes when they step on the scale! This is especially frustration for women caused by a lifetime of calorie counting, dieting, scale watching not to mention the constant bombardment by the media with shows like "The Biggest Loser" and the commercials from those prepackaged food plan companies. It's no wonder we get hung up on weight!

If you recently decided to become more fit and healthy, let me ask a couple questions, you may just fall into this trap;
  1. How do your clothes fit?
  2. How do you FEEL?
  3. Have you checked to see what your body fat percentage is or should be?
If your clothes are feeling loose, you feel great and have more energy and your body fat percentages are going down wouldn't you agree those are all good things?  Then why does the one number from the devil, in this case we'll call it "the scale" matter so much?

Be honest, who really care?

If you drop a couple dress sizes and only drop a few pounds are you THRILLED or frustrated?

Remember when you decided to become more active, healthy, fit, etc., it should have been for the long run, not just 90 days.

Do yourself a favor, stay off the scale and judge your success by the fact that you're working out regularly, you're eating healthy and that you're feeling better!

Ore your other options could be to starve yourself on a crash diet and achieve that "weight loss" goal, but chances are you'll feel like hell, be grumpy, cranky and generally not a whole lot of fun to be around, but hey, you lost some weight!

Stick with your new lifestyle of healthy eating and being more active in the long run you won't give a rip what the "DEVIL" has to say.
